What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation with sharply focused attention. Our programs use hypnosis in two ways. It is used to assist in identifying underlying unconscious processes that block successful lifestyle changes and it is used to assist in changing patterns of thought and behavior to support lifestyle changes.

Common Hypnotherapy Issues

Weight Loss Methods

  1. We focus on natural hunger control. We use hypnosis to reinforce the natural cycle of eating to satisfy hunger and quickly noticing when the hunger is gone so that you stop eating.
  2. We reinforce the communication from your body's natural wisdom about what food you need to your appetite. When these are in balance your weight naturally stabilizes at your body's ideal.
  3. We add suggestions that you will enjoy drinking plenty of cool pure water throughout the day to keep your body properly hydrated.
  4. We encourage your body's natural desire for movement, stretching and exercise.
  5. We provide tapes/CDs of your sessions to listen to at home daily for reinforcement.

Weight Loss Program

We have no contracts. Ideally, weight loss clients will have at least two sessions per week for the first two weeks. From there, it is entirely based on individual preference and response.

Smoking Cessation Program

Smoking cessation is often a two session program.

  1. In the first session we identify underlying 'benefits' gained by smoking beyond the obvious nicotine addiction. Until we resolve those 'payoffs' smoking cessation will not be likely to work. Perform and tape the first hypnosis session based on the information obtained.
  2. We check on the results so far and identify any remaining problems. Perform the second hypnosis session.
  3. Follow up sessions if needed.

Relaxation/Stress Relief/General Well-being

  1. We identify specific stressors/problems. We utilize the most appropriate techniques to relieve any emotional 'charge' on those stressors, usually TFT.
  2. We perform and record the hypnosis session focusing on the client's unique stressors and developing general health and well-being.

Guided Imagery/Perfomance Enhancement

  1. We identify your goals for performing a specific task in the future.
  2. We build the scenario using visualization techniques during the hypnosis session which we tape for daily use at home.
